I live and work in Pfinztal near Karlsruhe. As an artist, I have the need to reflect on myself and ultimately interpret my own view of things. Paint and brushes can do this in a different way than a photographic image. Much of what I perceive creates images in me, which I then paint. I am a figurative painter. I particularly love using other people's images of women to transfer my inner perceptions to canvas. I am not interested in the perfect reproduction of what is visible, but ultimately it is always an attempt to reinvent what concerns, impresses and surrounds me and to illustrate it in my own way. My strong connection to nature is reflected in the pictures. I love oil paints because of their smoothness and the smell that spreads throughout the room while I work. The smell is very important to me. It gives me a good feeling and the certainty that something new is being created. I like the old masters with their glaze painting and their perfect depiction of light and shadow. But I also love the expressionists with their powerful expression and uninhibited application of paint. I am a great admirer of Marc Chagall, his imagination and the sometimes childlike depiction of his motifs. My love for the art styles mentioned - the glaze painting of the old masters, the powerful, color-intensive expressionism and a pinch of imagination characterize my style. Always on the lookout for a form of expression that does justice to all of this, I alternate between a realistic depiction and a simplified, stylized painting style - sometimes within one picture. Oil paints are the perfect medium for me. While the individual paint applications are drying, new sketches for further works are created. I have found my own style. But standing still means going backwards. Constant development and change make my work all the more interesting. I don't know boredom.
Numerous exhibitions at home and abroad as well as participation in trade fairs, including France, Italy, Greece, Austria, Czech Republic, USA and Cyprus. My works hang both privately and in public spaces.
